Photoshop_logo.svg It’s not often that a technology product, even a successful one, enters the language as a verb. Some of us google, but nobody iPhones, Excels, or HDMIs.

But by remaining influential over a history that now spans 20 years, Photoshop software has achieved a place in the English language.

Over its two decades, it grew from a single black-and-white image-editing package to a multi-product franchise, a starring member of Adobe Systems’ Creative Suite line, and, of course, a verb.

twitter_over_capacityI totally love it when stuff works and everything runs smooooooth. BUT – when things DON’T work (especially when I’m in a hurry), worlds collide.

Patience is really not one of my strong attributes. I don’t like slow websites, I don’t like slow computers, I hate it when stuff doesn’t work at all. Can anyone relate to the frustration? ;)

Cintiq12WXI have nothing special on the menu today, so I wanted to talk a little about speed painting. For those of you who don’t know what speed painting is all about I have posted a little explanation further down. If you want to master the art of speed painting you have to practice for years, by hand on paper and infront of the computer.

Speed Painting demands a lot of  patience and a lot of artsy skills. A lot of beginners think they will master this artform in a matter of weeks or months. Unfortunately that’s not the case. There is a reason why digital artists get paid big bucks for their projects :)

Content Management SystemI am really excited about this new project that we’re working on. I don’t want to say too much, but I know you will love it once it goes “live”. Before the design process gets started, I need to figure out the website architecture and what solution to use. That’s where you all come in ;)

We’re looking for advice and suggestions in terms of the sites architecture and the backend setup. Basically what we’re looking at is a multi site network with many domains linked together. Each domain will have it’s own theme/layout but all articles and content should be able easy accessible from other sites/domains.

We need a solid (open source or commerical) CMS that runs all sites from the same backend configuration and all the content should be stored in the same database. We need to figure out what CMS we should use, what database setup and what kind of hosting we need.

If anyone has any valuable information or great ideas, please let me know. We’re currently looking at commercial and open source solutions so all suggestions are welcome.

Thanks guys, have a fantastic week!
