diamondThe rough 507 carat white stone was unearthed at the historic Cullinan mine – where the famous Cullinan diamond was discovered in 1905. A spokesman for the mining firm Petra Diamond said the gemstone found last week was among the world’s 20 largest diamonds ever discovered.

He added: “Initial examinations indicate that it is of exceptional colour and clarity, and most likely to be a Type I diamond.

“At 507 carats (just over 100 grams) the diamond, which has yet to be named, is considered to be among the top 20 largest high quality rough diamonds ever found worldwide and ranks alongside other illustrious diamonds recovered at the celebrated Cullinan mine.

Cintiq12WXI have nothing special on the menu today, so I wanted to talk a little about speed painting. For those of you who don’t know what speed painting is all about I have posted a little explanation further down. If you want to master the art of speed painting you have to practice for years, by hand on paper and infront of the computer.

Speed Painting demands a lot of  patience and a lot of artsy skills. A lot of beginners think they will master this artform in a matter of weeks or months. Unfortunately that’s not the case. There is a reason why digital artists get paid big bucks for their projects :)

Mercedes_SLS_AMGA dashing new interpretation of Mercedes-Benz’s fabled “Gullwing” model, called the SLS AMG, will be one of the stars of the Frankfurt Motor Show. Gone are the familiar rounded nose, circular headlights and triangular rear quarter-lights of the 1950s model.

In their place, the German firm will unveil a chiselled, aerodynamic new model with vertically slanted headlights, a steeply-raked windscreen and taut, muscular, ground-hugging lines. Doors that pivot from the roof and that fold up and out are, however, instantly reminiscent of the car’s famous forbear; so too are not-so-discreet air vents just aft of the front wheels.

The History Channel Logo Over the last couple of weeks the history channel has been running a promo for their new History HD channel. The promo features a lot of different clips from various programs and shows they’re running. It is a really great promo that inspires not only me but probably a lot of people to sit down and watch the world of science in HD.

If you’re a fan of the discovery channel, national geographic or the history channel, this definitely blows in your direction. Oh, and did I mention the music? The music is pretty awesome too ;)
