The epic battle between the online giants Internet Explorer and Firefox has had many twists and turns over the years. It seems like an ongoing, neverending, eternal, fight on the web – a battle that never seems to end. A couple of years ago, Firefox gained the upper hand and they never looked back. What I’m about to show you is not a new thing, but it’s definitely entertaining. You maybe have seen it on other forums or blogs, but I decided to add this little funny battle to my blog as well.

These videos were created years ago and I have to say the mastermind behind these videos really shows us some great deal of imagination. I introduce to you, the animated battle of Internet Explorer, Firefox, AIM and more against the vicious stick figure.

@Thorsten: I think video 2 is working for me (albeit slowly) but I don’t seem to have any sound effects? Really loved video 1 though.

p/s: Would you ever consider using the Subscribe to Comments plugin at all?

@Flick: you’re right, the sound was missing. I updated the link and video #2 now has sound :)

I will definitely look into the “subscribe to comments” plugin. Not sure what plugins are available but I’m sure I’ll find something.

@Thorsten: Thanks :) Didn’t realise a difference in links would mute a video! Learn something new every day (like using timestamps for Youtube videos)

And yay! I’ve spotted the Subscribe to Comments plugin in action already, thank you! It’s incredibly useful imho for keeping people updated about new comments. Is this the one by Mark Jaquith?

@Flick, I don’t think it was the link, but the video itself. It didn’t have any sound hehe.

It sure is Mark’s plugin (with some minor modifications). At first I wasn’t sure what plugin to use, but I ended up giving Mark’s version a go. So far it works pretty good. I may add a few extra features later on though.

I’m also looking into an easy way for visitors to subscribe to specific categories. If you have any suggestions, please let me know ;)
